Responding to the backlash of criticism over comments accusing Michael J. Fox of faking or “purposefully exaggerating” the affects of his Parkinson’s disease to forward the “liberal, leftist agenda” regarding stem-cell research, conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh fought back, saying that Fox was merely the latest in a long line of liberal shills exploiting the good will of the American people with their ‘insensitive, immoral politics.”
“All I’m saying is that I’d never seen Martin so animated and preachy,” Limbaugh said, referring to the famous “I Have a Dream” speech the civil rights leader delivered in 1963 at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. He proclaimed King to be “either off his meds or acting” in order to advance his “progressive, open-minded vision of America.”
“Frankly, the American people deserve better,” he said.
